This SAE Recommended Practice establishes a uniform laboratory
dynamometer method of testing all classes of passenger car brake
systems.
Purpose—The purpose of the document is to establish brake system capabilities with regard to:
Deceleration versus input, as affected by speed, brake temperature, and usage.
Brake system integrity.
Stopping ability during emergency or inoperative power-assist conditions.
Rationale—In reviewing the document it was found to be obsolete and has been replaced by SAE J2784.
