Description / Abstract:
Form
This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of
barsand forgings up through 3.000 inches (76.20 mm), inclusive, in
diameter or least distance between parallel sides with a maximum
cross-sectional area of 10 square inches (64.5 cm2), and forging
stock of any size (See 8.7).
Application
These products have been used typically for parts requiring high
strength and toughness and good creep resistance up to 1000 °F (538
°C), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause
these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking;
ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
