Description / Abstract: Purpose-The purpose of this SAE Recommended Practice is to estab- lish recornmended lead-free paint color offsets to two specific color stan- dards currently based on lead-containing pigments.8-b The colors are iden- tified throughout the industry as ¿School Bus Yellow¿ and ¿Highway Orange.¿ It is anticipated that other industry, trade, and governmental agencies will assimilate the recommended colors in this SAE Reconi- mended Practice into their existing color identification systems. It is fur- ther anticipated that this SAE Recommended Practice may be subject to change and may be discontinued when the transition to lead-free paints is completed.
